Praying for Non-Christians
We know how powerful prayer is, and that our evangelism efforts are fruitful to the degree they’re undergirded by prayer. As James wrote, “The prayer of the righteous is powerful and effective” (James 5:16b).
The question often asked is, “But how do I pray for the non-Christians in my life?”
Using Scripture, we offer some ways to pray for the non-Christians in your sphere of influence and for help in sharing your faith.
The Great Invitation
The Great Commission is Jesus’ invitation to partner with Him in His redemption plan for humanity. Yes, He is the Senior Partner; we are the junior partners in the partnership. However, in the humility and wisdom of God, He chooses to work with us and through us in His beautiful upgrade of creation.
Jesus invited us to partner with Him: “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all the nations.” And He backed up His invitation with this wonderful promise, “Behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age” (Matthew 28:18-20).
